Urban Design of Chongwu Ancient City, Quanzhou

Through an in-depth exploration of regional resources such as Chongwu’s nature, history, humanities, craftsmanship and marine economy, the project takes the regional cultural characteristics, industry orientation and future development pattern as the starting point, and proposes the design concept of “fish swim in Chongwu, lighting up the sea silk”. By integrating horizontal resources in the Chongwu area, extending vertical industrial services, implanting cultural connotations, and taking industrial integration as the basis, the plan is to create a characteristic fishing port town that is livable, business and travel friendly and builds a bright light for the Maritime Silk Road. Fully meet the functional needs of Chongwu urban renewal, provide a foundation for industrial integration and development, and the design form is deeply integrated with Chongwu's characteristic culture to form a coastal folk tourism and vacation destination.
